Windswept Estate's carriage house

Description

The ruins at Scarborough Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island, are the remains of the Windswept Estate's carriage house, a stone structure located on the northern end of the beach near Black Point. The estate was built in the 1890s but was demolished in 1974 after multiple fires, leaving only the carriage house ruins. The state of Rhode Island acquired the property in 1980, and today, visitors can explore the historic stone foundation and surrounding natural area.
